The system is the leverage of success

In one course* marks assign to me by choosing three points of what a guest speaker mentioned about his or her field of activity and it is my choice which points I would like to analyse and to describe the theory behind it. Till now I have done some assignments and my experiences are: 1. I could enhance my knowledge in this area in which I would like working later 2. I did not learn unusable stuffs. 3. I enjoy it and at the same time a enhance my knowledge Another example about how dominant could be a system was made in a German bank. Sometime in the seventies the objective for each local branch was, open as much as possible new saving bank books. The result was, when a customer would save e. g. 20,000 Deutsche Mark, a success orientated staff member opened 4 accounts with each 5,000 Deutsche Mark. In the end of the day, the seeming most effective branches caused the highest process costs. Later in the nineties the same bank sold products for internet access like an ISP (pay per minute)

The Paradox of our Age

We have bigger houses, but smaller families; more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees, but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgements; more experts, but more problems; more medicines, but less healthiness. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbour. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but have less communication. We have become long on quantity, but short on quality. These are times of fast foods, but slow digestion; tall man, but short character; steep profits, but shallow relationships. It is a time when there is much in the window, but nothing in the room. You are the newspaper

While reading some online articels in the "Herald Sun" an australian newspaper, today, I found a great access to this newspaper, much more than only letters to the editor. And in the end of the day I think the readership could produce their own newspaper. Conclusion: Against the background of Web 2.0 in online medias, let's try this princip also in offline medias (more than it currently comprises). What do you think about Web 2.0 in offline medias? Perhaps, do you know some examples orh even a best practise? Post it to us.

Australia runs out of water - what will happen next...?

What are you doing right now? (Was machst du gerade?)

twitter.com (in German so called Geschnatter) tries to come in touch with the Internet community by answering the simple question: What are you doing right now? 'Die Zeit' a German journal covered the story about twitter.com and I think. that is quite a good way to come in touch with you, you as my Blog vistitor. In short: What are YOU doing?

Tragedy at Virginia Tech

Two days after the tragedy newspapers reported that the Virginia Tech University saved the domain http://www.choseunghui.com/ (also see: http://www.choseunghui.de/ ) preventing fraudulent use. For me as a member in the field of Public Relations (PR) it is a 'good' example how PR has to be managed in the Internet, especially in crisis communication. Against the background of Web 2.x everybody who is freaked out posts its worries, but who can give orientation, I mean professional support in the Internet. Is this a new task for politics? In the case of yes, how assume responsibility for this / the United Nations, or whom? Or what do you think?

My first posting

I just opened my own Blog and I think it is an excellent way to organize my thoughts. In addition someone else in the big Internet family and especially my friends are able to add my thought by sharing our ideas and thoughts. I am looking forward to receive lots of interesting comments and enhance our minds and getting to higher levels all together (win-win-situation), isn't it? Some words about the used language in my blog. I will write so often it is possible for me in English. Of course, there are some mistakes, but I think in this way I can share my thoughts and ideas with a larger auditorium and of course, your comments can be also in German. So my first thought which I would like to post concerns travelling: If somebody else is back home from a trip, do you ask: "How was it?" BUT, should not the real question be: "What has changed, now?" or "What has become different, now?"or "Do you differently minded after your trip?" Do you agree? Wh
